Malta - Gozo Heli Link

Heli Tours Malta are very proud to announce the lanuch of a new Malta to Gozo Helicopter Link Service.

Gozo’s heliport, virtually unused since the end of 2006, is
being de-mothballed and put back in service. Heli Tours has just obtained landing permits there, and the first flight was operated on Thursday.

Heli Tours managing director Philip Bayne tells Island Travel Trader Online he’s planning at least two flights daily from
Malta International Airport to Gozo’s heliport, located on the outskirts of Xewkija.

The flights, on an ad hoc basis, will take between nine and 11 minutes and cost €125 per person for a round trip, or €85 per person one-way.

Although this is an informal service, with no strict timetable, flights – to be operated using a four-seater Robinson R44 helicopter – are being slotted at 10:00 and 13:00.

Meantime, Bayne says that the helicopter sightseeing tours now available from MIA will be adapted with the heliport as
the starting point.

Gozo’s heliport has not been used on a regular basis since Spanish operator Helisureste ceased flying between it and MIA on 29 October 2006.
